Growers on the state's southern tablelands say the region has produced about half the quantity of wine grapes it normally does. Last spring, severe and widespread frost ruined hundreds of thousands of hectares of crop across New South Wales and Victoria, costing producers millions of dollars.
Producers of wine and wine grapes in New South Wales say they are pleasantly surprised with the quality of this year's vintage, despite one of the most difficult seasons in more than 40 years.
